AdZone Research Inc., a publicly traded company (Stock Symbol ADZR), is a  research firm that has developed tools that scan Internet content and messaging for its global defense initiatives. Based in Calverton, N.Y., it has the unique ability to monitor the World Wide Web in all languages for many different types of activity.

Its core technology -- NetGet™ -- was developed utilizing astrophysical algorithms originally designed for deep space study, and then applied to the World Wide Web.  This unique approach to Internet data gathering has given AdZone the ability to transcend file type or structure and retrieve data normally unavailable or undetectable.

With this unique capability, AdZone came to the attention of the U.S. government after the tragic events of September 11, 2001 as a possible source for tracking clandestine communication.  After a series of small contracts and a rigorous validation process, it has been proven AdZone is able to identify the presence of a specific type of communication.  Subsequently, applying a modified version of NetGet™ led to the development of Inter-Cept™, a tool that is able to identify digital video pirates, well upstream from the standard broad-based users.

The know-how gained from these two earlier enterprises gave rise to the emergence of the Online Predator Profiling System (OPPS), and later the creation of the FAST Report.  These two new AdZone products are revolutionizing the way law enforcement is able to profile online predators and accelerating the time to return missing children.

Within the first three months of release, OPPS garnered more than 5,000 license requests from nearly 150 police forces across the country.  Additionally, in that same timeframe OPPS was operational in the greater Washington, D.C. and New York City areas, along with localities in the Midwest and Florida. OPPS is also now operational on an international basis with the Ontario Provincial Police.
